Board Bio — Coleman Baar

Tell Us A Little About Yourself… I am an avid steward of our public lands and natural resources. I love fly fishing, birding, backpacking, and everything outdoor adventure. I am passionate about STEM, philosophy and ethics, and the fine and performing arts. I assist our chess club, and coach our middle school lacrosse team!

Tell Us About Your Family… My family is small, but strong! My wife, Kara, and I have two children, Harrison and Sailor. We have set the family goal of bringing our camper to all 50 states. (We are working through the logistics of getting our camper to Hawaii.) So far, we have visited 35+ states and provinces.

Role on the Board: Buildings and Grounds Committee – Chair (first year)

Why did you want to be on the Board? I was at the State of the School meeting listening to different presenters when I realized I had a responsibility to volunteer my skills and knowledge to help Saint Thomas continue to be the community my family loves!

What do you hope to accomplish for Saint Thomas? I hope to continue the great work done by my predecessor, and help Saint Thomas continue its efforts to be more accessible and sustainable.
