Board Bio — Meredith Maczka

Tell Us A Little About Yourself: As a mother to four boys, I’ve developed thick skin and an immunity to loud noises and pungent odors. I am the Operations Manager for an executive recruiting firm and can be found regularly walking our Bernedoodle Rowdy while listening to true crime podcasts, in my minivan chauffeuring the boys to and from school/practice, or roaming the physical and virtual aisles of all major retailers. I have an affinity for laughing, Bravo TV, live music, antiquing, a clean kitchen sink, routines of any kind, big ideas, sleeping in complete darkness, golf, pickleball (one might say I am addicted), and dessert after every meal.

Tell Us About Your Family: I met my husband, Matt, at Purdue University, and like all true and good Boilermakers, we bleed Black + Gold…BOILER UP! We became a part of the Saint Thomas community 12 years ago when we moved to Grand Rapids from Indianapolis. Our oldest son, Charlie, is a former Hornet and sophomore at Catholic Central. Our younger three boys are Ben (7th grade), Will (6th grade) and Theo (4th grade) are all currently enrolled at Saint Thomas. Our family is very active and competitive – there isn’t a sport or game we won’t try. We prefer to be on the golf course or at the lake in the summer, and on the ski slopes in the winter.

Role on the Board: Committee On Directors – Chairperson

Why did you want to be on the Board? The Saint Thomas community is unlike any other. It is one that is full of faith, energy, acceptance and prayerful support of its members. As a recipient of these blessings both individually and upon my family, it is exciting to have an opportunity that would allow me to contribute towards maintaining our culture centered in Christ.

What do you hope to accomplish for St. Thomas? My passion is and always will be people. Building relationships and connecting with others about their ideas and experiences is what brings me joy. The Committee of Directors is the perfect way to bring my professional experience to Saint Thomas and facilitate an opportunity for parents, parishioners and community members to become involved with the School Board. We need you to share your time and talent so that Saint Thomas the Apostle can thrive for another 100 years!
