Board Bio — Shannon Dickinson

Tell Us A Little About Yourself: I grew up in Rockford, MI, and we have recently found ourselves buying a home back there! I studied at Grand Valley State University and graduated with a degree in special education and elementary education. I have since graduated with my masters in instruction and curriculum for special education. I am starting my eighth year teaching at Rockford High School in the program for students with cognitive impairments. Hobbies I enjoy include reading, being active, spending time outside, baking, and spending time with my family.

Tell Us About Your Family: My husband, Mitch, and I were married at St. Thomas in 2020. We have two children, Adeline (3 years) and James (1 year).

Role on the Board: Member At Large

Why did you want to be on the Board? I was asked by Meredith, who had great things to say about the board, and found myself interested! I am eager to learn more about St. Thomas school and have a positive presence in helping them grow!

What do you hope to accomplish for St. Thomas? I hope to bring a new perspective to the board and continue to encourage the development and growth of accepting students of all abilities at St. Thomas!
